Christmas is especially exciting for little ones. Everything about the festive season is pure magic through the eyes of a child, the lights, traditions, carols and of course, the occasional sighting of Santa! We have compiled a list of the best Christmas events for kids (and parents) to enjoy together.

Besides all the Christmas markets, light shows and great restaurants offering mature entertainment, there are some unique events that will make this season unforgettable for you and your little ones too. Start off your holidays by channeling your childlike creativity at the annual Gingerbread House Workshop at the Ritz Carlton, trying your hand at baking. Young and old gather in the kitchen in an aromatic cloud of sweet burnt sugar and dough to build a traditional gingerbread house with all the edible bells and whistles one comes to expect to see on a gingerbread house, from the pure white icing to the vibrant gumdrops. Lead by the Ritz Carlton’s experienced head pastry chef, the workshop will not only leave you with an impressive and delicious gingerbread house, but you may also take home one or two tricks of the trade you picked up at the end of the day. The event is great fun for the whole family and an experience you shouldn’t miss!

To fill your evenings with family-friendly fun, make a pit stop in Camana Bay and enjoy the Christmas Moonlight Movies. Bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy the show under the stars!

For the slightly older youngsters, the Ceramic Decorating Class in Camana Bay might bring the joy of the festivities. The class that hosts up to 20 people is an event for the whole family where you can each decorate a different ceramic item, while enjoying snacks and beverages. Leave with your unique hand-painted piece of ceramic, either a great keepsake to remember a special time or a thoughtful Christmas gift.

As Christmas Day draws near, little ones grow exponentially excited about the imminent arrival of Santa. Will he bring the presents they wished for? Will they get a glance at the majestic reindeers? And didn’t we all wonder if we would be so lucky to meet the one and only Santa? Maybe we would catch him in the dark, eating the cookies we baked with love and carefully placed on the plate for him while he would puts presents with our names under the tree. Allow this dream to come true for your children when you take them to the Santa Sightings in Camana Bay. Santa grants Cayman’s little ones two weekly visits (5pm-7pm) where they can have their photos taken for an unforgettable memory. If you want your kid to experience the Cayman Santa, go on Saturdays (3pm-5pm) and meet a relaxed Island-Santa with tropical shirt and shorts.

The Caymans – just like Christmas itself – offer fun and joy for the whole family. Get the chance to spend some quality time and maybe see Christmas through a child’s eyes one more time.
