Caymanians know it, tourists know it, and more and more the rest of the world is starting the recognise that Seven Mile Beach is undeniably the best beach in the world. To those of us who live here, it's pretty obvious why this particular stretch of sand is leading the way when it comes to beaches.
1. It's clean
Some beaches are littered with red cups, rubbish and junk, but with abundant beachfront properties on seven mile beach, this glistening shoreline is well manicured and glistening.
2. The clear waters
Cayman doesn't have rivers or agricultural run-off, resulting in sparkling, pristine visibility in the ocean for snorkeling and diving.
3. It's not overcrowded
Certain areas of this shoreline can be saturated with tourists tanning on the sand, but if you find the right spot, you'll get lost in the awe of the seclusion that this beautiful coastline offers.
4. The laid-back vibe
Maybe it's something in the air, the soft powdery sand or the surrounding friendly faces; when you step foot on Seven Mile Beach, your worries melt away.
5. The length
Although it's not actually seven miles long it falls short at five, it's rare to find such a lengthy strip of perfect sand and warm, turquoise waters.
6. The facilities
With a string of mega-resorts, beach bars and gourmet restaurants lining the beach, you'll never be stuck for somewhere to grab a cocktail or a bite to eat along this beautiful beach.

10. There's lots of shade
No need to bring an umbrella to this gorgeous, popular beach, it's groomed with private thatch cabanas, inviting sun-loungers and tropical tiki huts along the as well as plenty of palm trees if you need a break from the hot Caribbean sun.
11. The soft sand
Soft, silky sands grace the Cayman coastline, which is another upside of this famous beach. There's nothing better than feeling your feet sink into warm sands while the ocean gently laps against your feet.
12. The sunsets
As if it wasn't pretty enough in the day, seven mile beach is still just as stunning at dusk, when the sun disappears into the ocean setting the sky and sea ablaze.
